Ambitious aims, skillful execution made 2006 sing
Speaking of contemporary music, it was hard to believe that eighth blackbird
has been around for a decade, but the sextet came to Harvard's Sanders
Theatre in March with a 10th-anniversary program, courtesy of Bank of
America Celebrity Series. The show was a visual as well as musical riot
that confirmed the group's place at the forefront of new-music ensembles.
