Waco Trib Article

This article, written by Carl Hoover, appeared in today’s Waco Tribune, in advance of our concert at Baylor University this evening. Here are a couple of grabs:

Munro called eighth blackbird’s contemporary repertory “compelling and baffling, in equal measure,” noting that the classical music written today ranges from “part indie rock, part punk rock opera to what some call ‘the squeaky gate.’ ”

“Creating a concert is like making a good meal. It has to be balanced,” he said, adding, “very rarely will audiences come away loving everything on the program.”
