It’s like being back at college.
As ensemble-in-residence at University of Richmond we spend six weeks of the year on this fabulous campus - teaching, coaching, performing, rehearsing and teaching a class.
Almost every day that we are here, four members of the ensemble gather for lunch at the dining hall. A ritual that we all love and look forward to, d-hall time is time to regress, to feel like we are all students again, to chew the fat while chewin’ the fat.
We pay our $4.75; I grab the NY Times Arts section; Nick heads for the “Mexican” section; Michael looks disconsolately at the vegetarian offerings; Matt attempts to get at least one vegetable in his system for the day. After our entrees we head for coffee, dessert and cereal. Yes, cereal. At 1pm.
